Tirta Gangga Water Palace
Tirta Gangga Water Palace is a beautiful park with a huge water fountain and a wide pond. Located at Ababi village, Abang District, Karangasem Regency in the east part of Bali. To visit Tirta Gangga from Denpasar City, you can take 2 hours by car or motorcycle.
History of Tirta Gangga
Tirta Gangga Water Palace is built in the year of 1948 by the Karangasem King of Anak Agung Anglurah Ketut Karangasem. Before this park is found, there is big wellspring found in this area which the local society believes that this water comes from the land is holy spring, therefore, they call this place is Embukan means wellspring. According to the locals believe that this wellspring functioning as a bathing place for the god and also used as drinking water for the local community from the nearest village. Therefore this wellspring is sacrificed by local people and keeps the park into a good looking and nowadays, it becomes one of the famous tourist destinations in the east part of Bali.
General Information of Tirta Gangga Tourism Area
The location of the Tirta Gangga is in the middle of rice fields and the water in this park comes from the Rejasa spring. This park still belongs to the Karangasem kingdom. The area of the Tirta Gangga is 1.2 hectares, which extends from east to west. Around the area, there are swimming pools and ornamental ponds with fountains. Tirta Gangga is open from 08:00 - 18:00 pm. Most of the tourist activities when visiting the Tirta Gangga is take a picture and feeding fish. For fish food, you can buy it at stores outside the area. There is one photo location that is popular with tourists as a background photo. That is the stone footing that looks floating on the surface of the water.
